2025 Fantasy Outlook
Preseason ankle surgery limited Robinson to just 17 appearances during the 2024-25 season, during which he averaged 5.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 combined steals and blocks in just 17.1 minutes per contest. With Tom Thibodeau no longer a factor, there is a chance that the minutes will be spread a little more evenly across the team. With rumors swirling that Robinson could even start alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, it appears that he is in line for an increased role either way. Despite a very limited offensive repertoire, Robinson provides New York with an elite defensive presence, something that cannot be said for Towns. No matter his formal designation, look for Robinson to play minutes in the low-20s on most nights, as the Knicks attempt to right some wrongs from the past couple of seasons. Read Past Outlooks

On paper, Robinson had a fantastic opportunity to establish himself as the defensive anchor for New York in 2024-25. However, his season will start late. He's still recovering from two ankle surgeries, and he's expected to be sidelined until at least December. Plus, the Knicks made a blockbuster trade right before training camp, sending Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to Minnesota in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns, who'll be New York's starting center. With Isaiah Hartenstein now residing in Oklahoma City, Robinson, when healthy, seemingly has a clear path to backup minutes. However, as has been the case throughout his career, injuries limit his upside. Robinson finished the 2023-24 season well outside the top 150 in standard leagues, averaging 5.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 24.8 minutes per game. That rank tumbles even further when considering total value, given he played just 31 games due to multiple ankle surgeries. When available, Robinson remains a great source of boards and blocks, as well as providing above-average steal numbers from the center position. With no offensive game to speak of, his overall value is capped. Given his injury status to begin the season, Robinson doesn't need to be drafted in standard leagues outside of the final pick in the draft to stash on IR.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Could start over Hart
Robinson could be the fifth starter for the Knicks on Opening Night ahead of Josh Hart, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic speculates.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Mike Brown will have the final call on who will be the fifth starter alongside Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby. Robinson might get the nod to add some size to the frontcourt, and if that's the case, expect Hart to play a sizable role off the bench as the sixth man.
