2025 Fantasy Outlook
After nearly six seasons with the Mavericks, Hardaway was traded to Detroit in July 2024. He was a mainstay in the starting five but saw a dip in production with the Pistons, averaging 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 28.0 minutes per game in 77 regular-season appearances. He also shot 36.8 percent from three-point range. Following his lone season in Detroit, the 33-year-old swingman signed a one-year deal with the Nuggets and will provide the club with wing depth behind Christian Braun and Cameron Johnson. Hardaway doesn't provide much fantasy value outside of his three-point shooting, and he'll have a defined role as a sharpshooter off the bench. Moreover, the Michigan product will have to compete for minutes off the bench with Peyton Watson, Julian Strawther, Bruce Brown and Jalen Pickett. Hardaway could garner some interest in the later rounds of fantasy drafts in deeper leagues, but he doesn't have much upside on a Nuggets team where he'll stick to providing a spark off the bench through his shooting from beyond the arc. Unless he can improve his efficiency from downtown significantly, the veteran swingman's ceiling is limited on a Nuggets team looking to bounce back from a Western Conference Semifinals loss. Pops for 20 against T-wolves
Hardaway closed with 20 points (7-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and three assists over 32 minutes off the bench during Monday's 127-114 victory over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward topped 30 minutes for the first time in three games as a member of the Nuggets, and Hardaway's 20 points and four made threes were more than he produced in the first two games combined. The elevated usage came in part as a result of Cameron Johnson (shoulder) checking in and out of the lineup before finally calling it a night in the fourth quarter. If Johnson winds up missing additional time, Hardaway should see a bigger workload and could move into the starting five.

After a disappointing season in Dallas, Hardaway was traded to the Pistons during the offseason, adding some floor-spacing to a roster in need of reliable perimeter options. Hardaway's role reduced during the 2023-24 season, averaging 21.0 minutes per game, his fewest since the 2015-16 season in Atlanta. Unsurprisingly, his production also took a hit, managing just 9.9 points per game to go with 1.9 three-pointers. In fact, this was the second-worst scoring output of his career. Now with Detroit, it is unclear just how Hardaway will be utilized. While he does fill a need, he certainly doesn't fit the Pistons' timeline. He is a candidate to be moved before the trade deadline, meaning the coaching staff may lean into him a little more than expected in the hope another team sees something they like. No matter his eventual role, Hardaway is unlikely to be anything more than a streaming candidate, with injuries to other players seemingly his only path to sustainable fantasy value.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Embracing reduced role
Hardaway said Monday that he's going to embrace his reduced role on the Nuggets, Bennett Durando of the Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
"I've realized throughout my career, sulking and being upset about something, it's just being an energy-drainer at that point," Hardaway said. After making 77 regular-season starts in Detroit during the 2024-25 season, Hardaway is now on a minimum salary contract and is expected to be the ninth man in Denver's rotation. The veteran is taking this change in stride, however, as he understands he has a new role to play in Denver with the team aspiring for a championship.
