No. Sports betting is not legal in Alabama, but legislature was in the works as of 2020.
Alabama is hoping to build off the positivity set by the legalization of Daily Fantasy Sports in 2019. The proposed sports betting bill of 2020 would approve retail and online sportsbooks with a total of four licenses being offered from the newly created Alabama Sports Wagering Commission. Given the Coronavirus pandemic, discussions revolving around the bill were put on hold, which could mean legalization has to wait until 2021.

At the least, Daily Fantasy Sports and horse racing betting are legal in Alabama. The law has a basic set of regulations, though unlike a lot of states, Alabama's minimum age limit is 19 years old.
