No. Sports betting remains illegal in Kentucky despite multiple attempts to pass a bill.
While the Governor is a proponent of sports betting legalization, the House is divided and a series of amendments were added to the most recent bill in February 2020, which likely means it won't be passed by the end of the year, especially during the Coronavirus pandemic. The good news is that if it gets through the House, the majority leader of the Senate believes the bill would pass.
Sports betting seems inevitable in Kentucky, but residents will have to wait until at least 2021 for it to launch, if not longer.
Daily Fantasy Sports and horse racing betting are allowed along with skill and lottery games, however, poker is considered gambling and not allowed in the state. While allowed, fantasy sports are not regulated by the state after lawmakers failed to get a bill through the Senate in 2017. That being the case, fantasy sports are considered a game of skill and are allowed with little desire to overturn that notion.
