As it stands in 2020, South Carolina is one of the least likely states to legalize sports betting. While sports betting bills have been introduced in South Carolina throughout the years, none of them have been close to getting approval.
Lawmakers aimed to amend the state's constitution in order to introduce sports betting, horse racing betting and casino games in late 2018, but the resolution was quickly shot down within months of creation.
Daily Fantasy Sports are one of the only legal forms of betting allowed in the state because it has yet to be addressed by lawmakers.
Otherwise, all forms of gambling is prohibited in South Carolina, whether it's card playing, horse racing betting or land-based casinos.
