When will sports betting be legal in Oklahoma?

Fact Checked By: Adam Zdroik

Sports betting is not legal in Oklahoma and it doesn't appear close to changing. While lawmakers have introduced bills, none of them have come close to going through. The problem is that the tribes aren't in agreement over sports betting and as long as that's the case, nothing will change within the state. It doesn't help that the Oklahoma gaming leader is not on good terms with the governor.

At the least, horse racing betting is legal at three racing tracks and Daily Fantasy Sports are also allowed. Similar to sports betting, tribal groups came out against an early fantasy sports bill because it excluded them from any potential revenue. That being the case, DFS sites continue to operate within the state because there has been no regulation.
