The Rangers have selected MacLean with the 115th overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft.
ANALYSISMacLean becomes the second Oregon prep pitcher to be selected in this draft class after the Phillies nabbed right-hander
Mick Abel in the first round. A 6-foot-3 southpaw, MacLean doesn't offer the power arsenal that Abel does, but the former earned high marks for his excellent command of a three-pitch arsenal that includes a low-90s fastball, a high-spin, low-70s curveball and a changeup. Texas will need to pry MacLean away from his commitment to Washington in order to get the lefty in the system.
