NHL Caps on the Brink of History

  • Hero to goat. Marc-Andre Fleury used to be a Conn Smythe shoe-in. Now, he's the reason the Knights are one loss from their season ending. Crazy. He's still the one and only reason Vegas is playing in the Final.
  • The Golden Knights have no answer for the Caps' three franchise players -- Evgeni Kuznetsov (four helpers), Alexander Ovechkin (one helper) and Nicklas Backstrom (three helpers).

  • Best tweet of the night? "Fleury ain't LeBron."
  • The Knights cannot handle the Caps' neutral zone approach. They just can't get ANY speed into the zone, at least not in their usual Vegas waves.
  • OK, so it wasn't all on the Flower -- Vegas' D must have been in the ticket line for a show because they sure weren't on the ice most of the game. Choke.
  • Fleury might be struggling, but he's exhausted and alone. Do not confuse winning for good play from Braden Holtby. He hasn't been that good, just lucky. Game 4 would have been very different if James Neal hadn't missed that wide-open look in the first.
  • NHL teams up 3-1 in the Final have gone on to win the Cup 31 straight times. I'm not saying the Knights can't come back, but ...
