Betting - Taking the Mariners Again?

Record 7-8

Bank Account -225

Mariners at Yankees - This one jumped off the board for me. Phillip Hughes is -170 today. Really? The same Hughes who may have had a decent start the last time out but has been awful all year long as his 2-4 with a 6.67 ERA shows. Okay, you busted me Hector Noesi also has an ERA of 6.30, but pitched an excellent game last time out for the Twins (insert joke). It should be noted Hughes is 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA vs Seattle. I am going to make my first double bet of the year on this game as the O10 is also too good to pass up.

TV's Take: Mariners +170; O10+105/Bet $100 to win $170; Bet $50 to win $52

Rays at Orioles - My favorite pitcher to pick on over the last year or so takes the hill for the Orioles in Brian Matusz. In late April Matusz broke a 12-game losing streak. He has had a few good starts, but he is still as shaky as they come. I like the Rays to put up 4+ just on him. The longest Matusz has lasted in his last five starts is 6.1 innings. On the other hand Matt Moore has also been shaky to say the least as this fantasy owner can tell you first hand. He is coming off a terrible start in which he gave up a career worst 8 ER vs Oakland. I really want to take the Rays, but I can't trust Moore either. This looks like a nice O9 to me.

TV's Take: 09 -110/Bet $220 to win $200

Blue Jays at Twins - The Twins will call on PJ Walters to make his first start in 2012 against the Blue Jays bombers. Good luck PJ! Walters comes to the Majors with a 2.70 ERA at AAA. I can tell you from living in MN the Twins have few pitching prospects and the move is only being made because Liriano has been so bad. This is not a permanent move it appears. The Blue Jays counter with Drew Hutchinson who is 1-1 with a 6.65 ERA. I think you know where I am going.....O9 BABY! I have two concerns...one is the lack of familiarity the hitters will have with the two young pitchers and of course I need to the terrible Twins offense to score probably three runs. I love this stat...Jose Bautista is 9-22 with seven homers in his last five games at Target Field.

TV's Take: 09 -115/Bet $115 to win $100

Tigers at A's - Doug Fister takes to the hill for the second time since coming off of the DL. The A's counter with Brandon McCarthy who is working with a sore throwing shoulder which has to make McCarthy fans nervous. McCarthy is one of the most underrated pitchers over the last few seasons. Fister will end up being the Tigers number two starter soon as he gets more games under his belt. The money line is moving a tad towards Detroit. In looking at the numbers I didn't see much that swings me one way or another. I'm going more on instinct and assuming that McCarthy is not 100|PERCENT|.

TV's Take: Tigers -133/Bet $266 to win $200

Cleveland at Boston - We have Zach McCallister for the Tribe vs Felix Doubront for the BoSox. I would take this game at O11. The line is 09.5. The Tribe has gone Over in six of their last 10 games (6-3-1) and the last two vs Boston have gone Over. Boston has gone Over in seven of their last 10 games. Both pitchers today haven't been that bad, but considering the records of both teams in regards to the Over I am going to ride the streak.

TV's Take: 09.5 -115/Bet $115 to win $100
