Mullins suffered an ankle injury during practice this week, and he's expected to miss approximately six weeks, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Mullins, the Big East Preseason Freshman Player of the Year is expected to miss roughly the first month of the 2025-26 season due to an ankle injury he sustained in practice. Mullins started in UConn's exhibition game against Boston College and logged 12 points in 17 minutes. Georgia transfer Silas Demary (calf) missed the exhibition, so it wasn't a guarantee that Mullins would have been part of the first five if the team were at full health. With Mullins out, Jaylin Stewart is the likeliest candidate to pick up minutes off the bench, while a Malachi Smith, Solo Ball, Demary, Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed (hamstring) starting five is expected.
