Boyd attempted just over 10 field goals per contest last year with a slower-tempo San Diego State team, but it was a bit uncertain what his offensive expectations were going to be with the Badgers. If this exhibition is any indication of the regular season, that role will be significant, as Boyd was second on the team in scoring and first in shot attempts. He continued that momentum into a lower-stakes exhibition game against UW-Platteville on Wednesday, scoring 11 second-half points to keep the Badgers comfortably in the league. With a few tune-up games under his belt, Boyd appears set for primary point-guard duties in Monday's season opener against Campbell.
