Caps career with four TD passes
December 31, 2019
Perkins compled 28-of-40 passes for 323 yards and a career-high four touchdowns Monday against Florida in the Orange Bowl, adding 14 yards rushing.
ANALYSIS
While the Gators predictably limited Perkins on the ground given the time to prepare, he turned in the best passing outing of his career. Despite the appearance of accuracy issues throughout the year, Perkins completed 60+ percent of his throws in the final six games. His career closes with 4,299 total yards and 33 total touchdowns, and his graduation will leave an enormous hole in the Cavaliers offense for 2020.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2018
2019
Perkins arrived in Charlottesville by way Arizona Western College after initially starting his collegiate career at Arizona State. His Arizona State career ended before it could truly get started due to a serious neck injury. Thus, Perkins is stepping into the starting role without a snap of FBS game action under his belt. And yet, Perkins is primed to be one of the most fantasy relevant quarterbacks not only in the ACC, but in the country. He's a true dual-threat that ran for 353 yards and four scores in junior college while also completing 63.3 percent of his passes. He enters a pass-first system at Virginia with high-percentage concepts that'll create easy throws and fast track him to early success. It's not often a mid-year enrollee can come to a Power Five program and instantly earn a leadership role, but Perkins did just that. He may lack track record, but those who pass on Perkins in drafts will regret that decision.
Perkins burst onto the scene in his first season in Charlottesville, racking up the 16th-highest points per game average among quarterbacks. Aside from Kyler Murray, Perkins was the only FBS quarterback to run for at least 800 yards and throw for at least 2,400 yards in the regular season. He could have a greater responsibility as a rusher this season with running back Jordan Ellis gone and no returning running back with more than 32 career carries. Perkins is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation and will be playing one of the easiest schedules in the ACC.
