Spencer Sanders
QuarterbackQB
2021 Fantasy Outlook
Sanders enters his junior season with high expectations after earning MVP honors in a 37-34 win over Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl where he threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns. He'll have to get used to some new weapons now that Tylan Wallace and Chuba Hubbard have moved on to the NFL. However, that won't be hard with talented receivers like Tay Martin and Brennan Presley as well as a running back in Dezmon Jackson who saw plenty of carries last season. Even in a down year in 2020, the Cowboys managed to rank 39th in the nation with 426.8 yards of total offense per game. The best part about Sanders is that he remains a dangerous dual-threat quarterback with at least 100 carries in each of his first two seasons. Read Past Outlooks
Standout performer in bowl game
December 30, 2020
Sanders completed 27 of 40 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 45 rushing yards on 13 carries in Tuesday's 37-34 win over Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl.
ANALYSIS
Sanders saved his best performance of the year for the bowl game as the four passing touchdowns tied a season-high and propelled the Cowboys past a ranked Miami squad. After dealing with a few early-season injuries, Sanders had some ups and downs on his way to passing for 2,007 yards and a 14:8 TD:INT ratio. He wasn't as effective on the ground with 269 yards and two touchdowns in nine games compared to his 628 rushing yards and two scores in 11 games during the 2019 season. While Oklahoma State loses a couple of their stars in Chuba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace, Sanders is expected to be back next year to lead the Cowboys offense.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2020
Sanders red-shirted in 2018 after arriving at Oklahoma State as a Texas prep star and is considered by most as the state's premier quarterback prospect as the youngster has a huge arm and is one of the fastest runners on the team. He has yet to fend off Hawaii transfer Dru Brown officially, but this is expected to happen at some point in the season if not right away. The Cowboys play quintessential Big 12 football which means they will put up a ton of points and allow a ton of points which is a recipe for fantasy greatness.
It was a steep learning curve for Sanders in 2019 as the youngster saw ups and downs while being forced to split reps with Dru Brown towards the end of the season. He'll look to make a big jump from his 2,065 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air and cut down on the 11 costly interceptions. Sanders' best quality is his legs as he had 628 yards and two touchdowns on 139 rushing attempts. He won't be without a support cast as the Cowboys return 19 starters including running back Chuba Hubbard and wideout Tylan Wallace who are two of the best weapons in all of college football. Considering the serious dual-threat ability and surrounding talent, Sanders has a lot of upside in the upcoming season.
