Opts out, heading for draft
Not Injury Related
December 1, 2020
Boyd (undisclosed) announced Tuesday via his personal Twiter account that he has opted out for the remainder of the 2020 campaign and will begin preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Boyd didn't quite have the success on the ground this year that he enjoyed in both of his last two seasons with the Hogs, but the senior is ready to take the next step in his career. Look for Trelon Smith to handle the primary running back duties the rest of the way.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020
2019
Boyd was arguably the lone bright spot for Arkansas in 2019, rushing for 1,133 yards and eight touchdowns on 184 carries. He's back for his senior year and will be playing in a revamped offense under coach Sam Pittman and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles. Pittman figures to get the offensive line in gear and Briles is an accomplished play caller and designer, so things are looking up for Boyd compared to last season when he still managed to post some of the best numbers in the SEC.
Boyd was one of the few silver linings for the Razorbacks in what was an absolutely abysmal 2018 campaign. Boyd seized the opportunity at running back due to injuries, averaging six yards per carry en route to 734 yards on the ground to lead the squad. Devwah Whaley and Chase Hayden should both be back and healthy for the 2019 season, though, meaning competition could be fierce for touches. However, the quarterback position should be in much more capable hands under the direction of graduate transfer Ben Hicks, so the running game may find a bit more room to breathe. It remains to be seen how the carries will be divvied up, but Boyd figures to remain in the mix in some way, shape or form.
