CJ Verdell
Running BackRB
Oregon Ducks
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Oregon has constructed an SEC-sized offensive line that will maul PAC-12 defenses, and it returns every starter from 2018. Verdell ran for 1,018 yards and 10 scores in his first season and reeled in 27 of 34 targets, showing a complete skill set. Oregon has the running back depth to make it unnecessary to overuse Verdell, but even if Verdell sees a workload similar to his 188 rushes from last season, that’s still enough to make him a fringe top-30 fantasy running back. Troy Dye will also be a viable option in the Oregon backfield. Read Past Outlooks
Sees limited workload
RBOregon
September 15, 2019
Verdell ran the ball five times for 13 yards against Montana on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Verdell saw only five carries while Travis Dye ran the ball 17 times and operated as the primary back in the game. Verdell was the starter for the first two games before seeing his workload limited in what appeared to be a favorable match up with Montana. It's unclear if Dye has overtaken him in the pecking order or if Oregon was simply saving him for bigger games down the stretch. Oregon faces Stanford next week.
