Transferring to San Diego State
Johnson announced Sunday via his personal Twitter account that he will transfer to San Diego State.
ANALYSIS
After appearing in just four games for Georgia Tech in 2019, Johnson, a San Diego native, will travel home to compete for the starting quarterback job at San Diego State. Johnson plans on graduating from Georgia Tech in May, which will make him immediately eligible for the Aztecs next fall as a graduate transfer. The signal-caller did not play at all in 2018 due to a Lisfranc injury so he is expected to be granted a medical redshirt that will leave him with two years of eligibility remaining.
