Shows mobility in spring game
QBSouth Carolina

Joyner passed for 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 10-for-23 passing while also rushing for 60 yards at Saturday's spring game, Josh Kendall of The State reports.
Saturday's spring game was mostly a space for the backup quarterbacks to battle one another as senior starter Jake Bentley left after two series. Joyner is currently battling fellow freshman Ryan Hilinski for the right to back up Bentley, although Hilinski didn't allow Joyner to create separation as he also impressed with 206 yards on 24-for-36 passing. Joyner also shut down rumors that him and the coaching staff were contemplating a position change, saying there was "no chance" he's not a quarterback. The battle for the backup spot is now likely to stretch into fall camp, with the winner also taking the lead to become the starter in 2020.
