Gets more touches against VT
November 3, 2019
Armstrong's plus was the number of carries, 19, but he only ran for 37 yards on the ground in the 21-20 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Armstrong saw plenty of snaps with Tony Jones Jr. (ribs) on the shelf, but Virginia Tech's defense was mainly stingy against the running game. The junior also caught four passes for 49 yards. Armstrong did commit a costly fumble at the goal line that resulted in a Hokies defensive touchdown. Even if Jones Jr. returns this Saturday (Nov. 9) against Duke, Armstrong still should get several carries although not 19.
