2019 Fantasy Outlook
The true freshman received heavy praise in the spring from the coaching staff who envision Whittington being a capable back-up to Keaontay Ingram. Duel-threat quarterback Sam Ehlinger dealt with some injuries last season which leads to the team leaning on Ingram and Whittington to take the bulk of hits from defenders, so that Ehlinger can stay healthy. Whittington has sleeper fantasy potential if he can prove productive in the passing game in what should prove to be a much improved offense. Read Past Outlooks
Making waves with coaching staff
RBTexas
July 16, 2019
Whittington has made a strong impression on the Texas coaching staff, Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman reports. "The emergence of Jordan Whittington has been remarkable," coach Tom Herman said Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Texas is still waiting for Keontay Ingram to take the next step, but Whittington will figure into the Longhorns' run-game plans regardless. Whittington was a fringe five-star prospect in this year's recruiting class and has been on campus since January. Herman's remarks from Big 12 Media Days won't slow down the hype train on the hyper-talented Whittington.
