Michael Mayer

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Mayer just paced all freshman tight ends in targets (61), receptions (42) and yards (450) and could be in line for an even bigger role in 2021. The former five-star recruit could lead the team in targets after the Irish’s other top three targets moved on from the program. There could be a dropoff at quarterback following Ian Book’s departure, leaving question marks at the position, however. Still, even if quarterback play drops off, Mayer’s role is secure and his five-star talent can help overcome inefficient quarterback play and make him one of the top fantasy tight ends. Reaches Century Mark, Second Time
November 30, 2021
Mayer continues to be a steady offensive source with nine catches for 105 yards in Notre Dame's 45-14 win over Stanford last Saturday on the road.
ANALYSIS
It was the second-best outing for the sophomore tight end this season. Mayer caught nine balls for 120 yards and a touchdown against Florida State in the season opener on Sept. 5. He will be a key target in whatever bowl game or even if the Irish are fortunate to get a college football playoff game. Mayer finished the regular season with 64 catches for 768 yards and five touchdowns.
