2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hishaw is a sixth-year senior who will finally get his time as the focal point in the Jayhawks' offensive backfield. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry in 2024 as the reserve back behind superstar Devin Neal, who departed for the NFL. To prepare for this opportunity, Hishaw has slimmed down in the off-season with a better nutritional plan. Kansas has elevated a new OC with Jim Zewbrowski, the previous QB coach, and he will look to build on Kansas' 212 rushing yards per game in 2024, which was third-best in the Big 12. Zewbrowski's emphasis on RPOs and play-action should pair well with Hishaw's explosive playmaking ability. The Jayhawks also benefit from experienced quarterback Jalon Daniels and new transfer WRs Emmanuel Henderson (Alabama) and Cam Pickett (Ball State). The passing attack should open running lanes for Hishaw and fellow running back Leshon Williams, a transfer from Iowa. Read Past Outlooks

Ineffective against the Tigers
Hishaw had six rushes for 11 yards and hauled in 1 of 2 targets for negative two yards during Saturday's 42-31 loss versus Missouri.
ANALYSIS
Hishaw had a tough day while averaging just 1.8 yards per carry on his six carries. Every time he touched the ball he was dealing with a defender right at the line of scrimmage. The Jayhawks are on a bye next week before hosting West Virginia.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Hishaw is a versatile back who can dazzle in the ground game or pass game. This was evident on a 73-yard touchdown reception against Duke in Week 4 last year. Hishaw posted a touchdown in all five games he appeared in last season before having a season-ending hip injury. He’s the perfect compliment to Devin Neal who was a 1,000 yard rusher in 2022. While Hishaw will certainly cede carries to the starter Neal, it shouldn’t worry fans much as Kansas’ offense will be one of the best in the conference. Hishaw and Neal will run behind a great offensive line which includes four returning starters and former five-star lineman Logan Brown transferring in from Wisconsin.
