2022 Rush/Rec Projections

No longer with the team
Bailey has left the Colorado State football program, Kevin Lytle of the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Jay Norvell announced during a press conference this morning that Bailey has left the team. The senior running back rushed for 752 yards and nine scores across 11 games in 2021, before taking a backseat role in 2022 (20 carries for 61 yards across four games). It is unclear why Bailey has decided to leave the program, but it is rumored that he will enter the transfer portal in search of a larger opportunity with a new program.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Bailey has enormous shoes to fill as the likely workhorse replacement for A.J. Dillon, who ran a massive 813 times for 4,225 yards and 37 touchdowns in three seasons for the Eagles. In small sample sizes, we've seen Bailey is capable of big production, posting a 16 carry, 181 yard, two score game against North Carolina State, and following that with a 16-172-2 line against Syracuse. At 6-foot-1, 240 pounds, there's little doubt Bailey is built for heavy volume. There's also little doubt that Bailey will be the focal point of defenses, as likely starting quarterback Dennis Grosel completed only 48.4 percent of his throws last season. The Eagles are in full rebuild under first time head coach Jeff Haffley, whose defensive background suggests the Eagles will ground and pound offensively. All signs point to huge opportunities for Bailey, the question becomes can he take advantage when defenses know it's coming.
