ANALYSIS
Trotter sent out a Tweet in late December suggesting he would transfer from South Alabama but deleted it and will seemingly rejoin the Jaguars for the 2023 campaign. He will likely enter the season as the top backup option behind Carter Bradley again.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
What 2022 will bring for Trotter is still quite uncertain, as he is mired in a quarterback battle with Toledo transfer Carter Bradley to grab the top job in Mobile. Trotter was the Jaguars’ starter in 2020 and got the nod in two games last season in relief of an injured Jake Bentley. Trotter has experience in South Alabama’s offense, but remains limited as a passer. The Irondale, Ala. native has never thrown for more than 300 yards in a game and had a 5:3 TD:INT ratio last year. With some solid weapons returning (Jalen Wayne, Lincoln Sefcik and Caullin Lacy are all back), whoever lands the USA starting job will have plenty to work with. If Trotter wins the battle, his experience alone makes him worth keeping an eye on.
