Jordan Whittington

Wide ReceiverWR
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Whittington enters his senior season with the Longhorns coming off his most productive year in 2022 with 50 catches for 652 yards and a touchdown. He slots behind Xavier Worthy who is quarterback Quinn Ewers’ top target. Other options at receiver will be tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, Georgia transfer Adonai Mitchell and Isaiah Neyor who transferred in from Wyoming last year but was out with an injury. Texas is absolutely loaded this season with 10 returning starters which makes them one of the most experienced teams in the nation. With what projects to be one of the best offensive lines and receiver group in the nation, it’s not hard to understand why they are considered the preseason favorites in the Big 12 Conference. Past Fantasy Outlooks

2019
Whittington could have an expanded role for the Longhorns in 2021 with Jake Smith entering the transfer portal. He provides Texas with some versatility at the wide receiver position as he can also work out of the backfield. He likely won't need to play running back with the stud Bijan Robinson in the mix, but he can contribute with wideouts Joshua Moore and Troy Omeire on the outside. New coach and playcaller Steve Sarkisian was fantastic with the receivers at Alabama, so there's good reason to believe the Longhorns' passing game will be above average in 2021.
The true freshman received heavy praise in the spring from the coaching staff who envision Whittington being a capable back-up to Keaontay Ingram. Duel-threat quarterback Sam Ehlinger dealt with some injuries last season which leads to the team leaning on Ingram and Whittington to take the bulk of hits from defenders, so that Ehlinger can stay healthy. Whittington has sleeper fantasy potential if he can prove productive in the passing game in what should prove to be a much improved offense.
