2025 Fantasy Outlook
The former five-star recruit has waited his turn behind both Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe. With tons of time sitting and learning, the redshirt senior quarterback is now poised to take the reins of what looks to be one of the best situations in college football. Simpson will step into an offense that many project to have the best offensive line in the country. The wide receiver room also looks to be one of the most talented Alabama has had in years, featuring superstar wide receiver Ryan Williams, along with the big-bodied transfer from Miami, Isaiah Horton, and sure-handed Germie Bernard. Simpson's style of play also projects to be a better fit than his predecessor for the offensive system head coach Kalen DeBoer and offensive coordinator prefer to run, as Simpson is a pass-first quarterback with the ability to extend plays with his legs. While Simpson may end up being a perfect fit in what could be a highly explosive offense, the Crimson Tide also project to have one of the best defenses in the nation this year. A great defense paired with an offense that may have a fantastic offensive line could lead to an increase in the use of a talented but unproven running back room, which could reduce Simpson's fantasy ceiling slightly. Perfect in blow out win
Simpson completed 17 of 17 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 73-0 victory versus Louisiana-Monroe. He also had two rushes for three yards with one touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Simpson bounced back after a shaky season opener against Florida State with a statement against UL-Monroe. While it was certainly not against an SEC caliber competition Simpson looked extremely comfortable completing all his passes while even scampering for a touchdown along the way. Simpson will have to keep this momentum rolling as the tests will start to get tougher with Wisconsin next week followed by a road showdown against Georgia.
