The rising redshirt junior was part of a three-man quarterback committee through the first four games of the 2019 season, but after completing only 11 of 26 attempts for 177 yards, no touchdowns and two scores over that stretch, Oliver didn't attempt a pass from Week 6 onward. Even with James Graham emerging as Georgia Tech's top signal-caller, head coach Geoff Collins still took advantage of Oliver's speed and athleticism by having him line up at wideout as a runner out of the backfield. Oliver finished the season with 279 rushing yards (5.1 per attempt) and two touchdowns to go with 11 receptions for 106 yards and another score, and he also returned 14 kicks for another 297 yards. While the move to defense will come with a steeper learning curve, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Oliver has the size and physical ability to find success at the new position.
