Durham logged a modest 125 snaps from scrimmage as a rookie in 2023 and generated a modest 5-58 line on just seven targets. However, new coordinator Liam Coen's offensive system, a derivative of Sean McVay's successful Rams scheme, is expected to utilize a heavy dose of two-tight-end sets that could capitalize on the pass-catching acumen Durham demonstrated during his college days at Purdue.
Durham is a talented pass-catching asset at the tight end position that could form quite the dual threat in tandem with Cade Otton over time. A 2023 fifth-round pick, Durham isn't without size for blocking at 6-6, 253 pounds, either, and his 101 receptions over his last two seasons at Purdue combined with an effective red-zone presence (21 touchdowns in 36 games) could help him carve out a complementary role behind Otton as a rookie.

Durham would be in a position to see a notable target boost if Cade Otton is forced to miss any early-season games due to his leg and hamstring injuries, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Durham and then-rookie Devin Culp helped fill in for Otton in Weeks 16-18 last season while the latter dealt with a knee injury, and it was Durham who was the biggest beneficiary. The third-year pro generated a 9-81-2 on 12 targets in that three-game span, and although the slightly more experienced Culp would likely be due for a bigger role this time around, Durham should still serve as a key target considering the Buccaneers will also open the season without Jalen McMillan and likely Chris Godwin due to neck and ankle injuries, respectively.
