Little need in blowout loss
FBCleveland Browns
October 20, 2020
Janovich played just seven snaps in Sunday's 38-7 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
There was little need for a blocking back in Week 6, as the Browns were behind 24-0 by the second quarter. Exactly like Week 1's blowout loss to the Ravens, in which Janovich played nine snaps, the fullback was on the field just 12 percent of the time.

Janovich should benefit from playing under new offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello, who helped oversee a 49ers offense that featured the fullback more than most in 2018. San Francisco fullback Kyle Juszczyk led all fullbacks with 30 receptions in 2018, nearly four times as many as Janovich, who tied for second in the league with eight. Fullback is seldom a position of fantasy relevance, but Janovich may have a chance to be among the league's most prolific with a heavy emphasis on the run and inexperience at receiver potentially leading to more two-back sets.
If you're looking for a feel-good moment, YouTube former special teams coordinator Brock Olivo talking about Janovich. Janovich was drafted under a Gary Kubiak regime that sought to use two-back sets to pound the ball. Now, in what should be a more spread-out scheme under coordinator Bill Musgrave, can Denver afford to cut one of its talented young backs for a special teams ace and goal-line option?
The rookie tops the Broncos' depth chart at fullback heading into the preseason. For many teams, such developments matter little, but head coach Gary Kubiak utilizes fullbacks more than most coaches. Fullbacks and H-backs scored 13 touchdowns under Kubiak in Houston, including Vonta Leach's three in 2007. Janovich showed a solid nose for the end zone during his senior year at Nebraska, scoring three touchdowns.
