25-Year-Old CornerbackCB
Los Angeles Rams
2020 Fantasy Outlook
There's no comparison between Ramsey's on-field play and fantasy value. Despite being to three consecutive Pro Bowls, the 25-year-old cornerback has never been a go-to fantasy contributor and projects to be a boom-or-bust producer again in 2020. So, even though Ramsey is likely to be one of the best shut-down corners in the league, he's an afterthought outside of the deepest IDP settings. Read Past Outlooks

Expected to move around in coverage

The Rams don't intend to confine Ramsey to the cornerback position in 2020 and will aim to move him around in coverage to take away the featured receiver of opposing teams, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
First-year defensive coordinator Brandon Staley and Ramsey have been talking multiple times a day, and Staley is bullish about Ramsey's command of all the positions in the defensive backfield. Being primarily deployed in a shutdown role as a cornerback limited Ramsey's fantasy upside in the past, so added positional versatility could provide more tackle and big-play opportunities for the perennial Pro Bowler. Entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2020, Ramsey remains eager to reach a long-term extension with the Rams, but he said Tuesday that he'll report to training camp even if a new deal isn't in place, according to Steve Wyche of NFL Network.

Ramsey continued the stellar start to his career with his second Pro Bowl nod in 2018, as he recorded 65 tackles (62 solo) with 13 passes defensed and three interceptions in 16 games. The 24-year-old has been a model of consistency with his production with at least 60 tackles and 13 pass breakups while not missing a game through his first three seasons. Ramsey figures to be a true shutdown cornerback once again in 2019 and will without a doubt have All-Pro aspirations after missing out last season. Partnered with A.J. Bouye, the two are likely to form one of the premier cornerback tandems in the NFL.
Ramsey has wasted little time making his impact known across the NFL, quickly becoming one of the best cover corners in the league. The 23-year-old recorded 63 tackles in 2017 with 17 pass breakups and four interceptions. The presence of A.J. Bouye opposite Ramsey gives the Jaguars arguably the top cornerback tandem in the league, and makes it exceedingly difficult for opposing quarterbacks to avoid throwing at either corner. There's no reason to believe Ramsey won't continue to improve in year three.
As a rookie, Ramsey lived up to expectations as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 draft, starting all 16 games and recording 65 combined tackles and a pair of interceptions. The 22-year-old is widely considered one of the best young defensive backs in the NFL, and he’ll team with free agent signee A.J. Bouye to form a talented cornerback tandem.
The consensus best defensive back in the draft falling to the Jaguars at No. 5 may have been an act of divine intervention. The secondary has long been a liability in Jacksonville, and Ramsey is projected to step in as a starter right away, even after tearing his meniscus during rookie minicamp in May. Ramsey is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, so he shouldn’t miss any meaningful snaps.
