2025 Fantasy Outlook
The third overall pick in the 2017 Draft has never really lived up to that billing, but Thomas remains a reliable and versatile option along the defensive line. Over the last two seasons with the Jets, the 29-year-old racked up 57 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks. Thomas signed a two-year deal with the Cowboys in March, and he'll provide depth behind Osa Odighizuwa in new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus' scheme, which puts its three-technique DTs in a position to thrive. It would be hard to label Thomas as anything but a bust after being selected with the third overall pick in the 2017 draft. The former Stanford standout has struggled to establish himself as an outside rushing threat, and he is considered undersized when shifted to the interior. Thomas' struggles are highlighted by the club declining the fifth year on his rookie contract, making 2020 a make or break season for the defensive lineman in San Francisco. He will have to prove himself while beginning the year as a backup rotational piece.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Fifth-year option declined
Thomas had his fifth-year option declined by the 49ers on Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The former No.3 overall pick in 2017 has fallen short of expectations to an extreme degree through his first three seasons, and the 49ers will not agree to keep him through 2021 at this stage. Thomas saw his snap count drop from 646 in 2018 to 428 in 2019 as he became a rotational piece on San Francisco's defensive line. He will get one more season to right the ship before he hits free agency in 2021.
