Visits Windy City
Chark recently visited the Bears, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports Monday.
ANALYSIS
Chark remains an unrestricted free agent as teams begin training camp. The 28-year-old wide receiver had just 31 receiving yards in seven regular-season appearances for the Chargers in 2024 after working his way back from hip and groin injuries. Chark has exceeded 500 receiving yards in four of his seven NFL seasons. He'll likely compete for a depth role if signed by the Bears or any other team.

Chark tied a career high with 15 appearances last season, after missing 22 games from 2020 to 2022. Not much else went right for him, with 35.0 yards per game being his worst average since his 2018 rookie season. Chark was only partly to blame, of course, as the Panthers offense was a complete disaster and coach Frank Reich insisted on putting overmatched rookie wideout Jonathan Mingo in a near-every-down role. Chark should be in a better situation this year, joining his fourth team in as many seasons, though his 2019 breakout in Jacksonville (73-1,008-8) is a distant memory that's vastly outweighed by the slew of ensuing mediocre seasons. While not assured of a starting role, Chark does at least have a decent chance at one after the Chargers got rid of WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen this offseason. The 27-year-old figures to compete for playing time with Joshua Palmer, 2023 first-round pick Quentin Johnston and 2024 second-rounder Ladd McConkey, in an offense directed by former Ravens coordinator Greg Roman.

Gets look from Chicago
Chark had a recent free-agent visit with the Bears, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old wideout played seven regular-season games for the Chargers in 2024, catching four of 10 targets for 31 yards and a touchdown. Chark does have experience in the scheme of new Chicago head coach Ben Johnson, as the duo were together in Detroit in 2022 when Johnson was the Lions' offensive coordinator, but he would be little more than a reserve option on a Bears depth chart headed by DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and 2025 second-round pick Luther Burden.
