2019 Fantasy Outlook
The 15th overall pick in this year's draft, Haskins will compete with Case Keenum to start for the Redskins. While Keenum's experience and poise offer at a certain floor, the 6-3 Haskins offers a much higher ceiling, largely because of his strong arm. Haskins showed excellent accuracy last season at Ohio State, completing 70.0 percent of his throws while leading the nation in passing yards (4,831) and touchdowns (50). The knock is that he's inexperienced with just one year in college as a starter, and also he lacks mobility (5.04 40). But Keenum is no great runner either, and both quarterbacks are in the same boat as far as learning coach Jay Gruden's offense. Even if Keenum wins the job, Haskins likely will play at some point, if only for the Redskins to find out what they have in the rookie. Colt McCoy, who is still recovering from a broken leg, may eventually join the competition. They'll all have to contend with a weak pass-catching group that's trying to get healthy, with Paul Richardson, Trey Quinn and Jordan Reed each coming off season-ending injuries. Josh Doctson is still around and still hasn't done much, but the team did at least use a third-round pick on Haskins' college teammate Terry McLaurin, who has 4.35 speed at 6-0, 208. Considering the lack of weapons, Haskins may spend a lot of time handing off to running backs Derrius Guice, Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson. Read Past Outlooks

Contending for starting job
QBWashington Redskins
June 14, 2019
Haskins is a serious contender for the Week 1 starting job, ESPN.com's John Keim reports. "He's put enough out there on tape to say he deserves a shot, without a doubt," coach Jay Gruden said. "When he's on, there's nobody you'd rather have than Dwayne. It's pretty. He stands tall; he has a cannon, and he can quicken up his release. He's got great touch. But sometimes when he's off, he's abnormally off. It's kind of weird."
ANALYSIS
The 15th overall draft pick seems to be as advertised so far, displaying the inconsistency that's almost inevitable for a one-year college starter. The good moments apparently have been impressive enough to put Haskins on even footing in a camp/preseason battle for the starting job with Case Keenum and Colt McCoy (leg). Each of the three figures to get work with the first-team offense, though McCoy seems like a long shot to actually win the job. Haskins has a huge advantage in terms of size, arm strength and youth, but Gruden may decide Keenum gives the team a better chance to win games in September. Either way, the rookie is a strong bet to make starts at some point this season.
