2021 Fantasy Outlook
The 49ers selected Mitchell in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but the late pick doesn't mean he can't have an immediate impact in the league. With a 5-10, 200-pound frame and 4.33 speed out of the backfield, the Louisiana product could carve out a specialty role for the 49ers (or another team if he doesn't make the cut). Read Past Outlooks

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Mitchell (shoulder) is day-to-day, Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell left Sunday's contest late in the fourth quarter, but he was able to return and finish the contest. The rookie appears to be the lead back for San Francisco after Raheem Mostert underwent season-ending surgery after sustaining a knee injury in the season opener. Fellow running backs Trey Sermon (concussion) and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) both suffered injuries Sunday that will possibly keep them out Week 3, so the 49ers are looking at recently acquired Trenton Cannon as the only healthy running back on their roster. If Mitchell is able to suit up against the Packers, he should feast on what has been a subpar run defense in Green Bay over the past few years.
