2025 Fantasy Outlook
A 2020 seventh-round pick, Jennings didn't play until 2021 and then spent three seasons as a lightly targeted No. 3/4 receiver, before making a name for himself with two TDs in a Super Bowl loss at the end of the 2023 campaign. He opened 2024 in his familiar, complementary role, but then exploded for 11-175-3 in Week 3 when Deebo Samuel was out. Brandon Aiyuk tore an ACL a few weeks later, opening the door for Jennings to average 5.8 catches for 63.4 yards and 0.33 TDs on 8.6 targets over his final nine games. He never reached 100 yards after Week 3, but he had seven instances of 64-plus receiving yards -- a number he'd hit just once in 54 games (including playoffs) before 2024. Jennings drew targets on 28.8 percent of his routes, ranking seventh among WRs with 300-plus routes and nearly doubling his rate from 2023 (15.1 percent TPRR). He also had career highs for catch rate (68.1 percent) and yards per target (8.6), although those numbers still don't match the best work from Aiyuk, Samuel and TE George Kittle under coach Kyle Shanahan. Samuel is now in Washington, Kittle is another year older, and Aiyuk is uncertain for Week 1, but now Jennings is now dealing with a calf injury and reportedly unhappy with his contract. He's thus uncertain to play at the start of the season, potentially missing out on a window when fellow wideouts Aiyuk and Demarcus Robinson (suspension) when won't be available. Read Past Outlooks

Dodges injury designation
Jennings (ankle/rib/shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
He'll play for a second straight week, but Jennings is tough to trust in fantasy after getting just three targets last Sunday at Tampa Bay and then saying afterward that he's playing through five cracked ribs, among other injuries. He did take 77 percent of San Francisco's snaps on offense, and there's potential for a similar rate (or higher) Week 7, with Ricky Pearsall (knee) still out and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (calf) now on injured reserve.

Jennings is a talented player, but he is often used as a blocking receiver. The veteran was targeted fewer than three times per game. In addition, Jennings rarely played 30 snaps in a game. As long as the 49ers are a run-heavy team, Jennings may not have much of a role in the passing attack. Also, the 49ers used a first-round pick on slot receiver Ricky Pearsall, so Jennings is unlikely to produce useful fantasy numbers with consistency. Should either of the top-two receivers miss time for the 49ers, Jennings could see increased volume, which would raise his fantasy value.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Trending toward game-time call
Jennings, who was sidelined in Week 5 due to rib and ankle injuries, is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers after managing to practice in limited fashion Thursday and Friday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jennings' return would be especially welcome for a 49ers offense that will be notably short-handed under any circumstance against Tampa Bay. Jennings' fellow wideouts Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall will sit out again due to their respective knee injuries, while George Kittle, who's completing his recovery from a Week 1 hamstring injury, won't be returning from injured reserve; therefore, Jennings would be in line for plenty of work should he manage to suit up.
