The Eagles signed Jackson to a contract Thursday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson spent the last four seasons with the Giants after playing with the Titans for the first four years of his NFL career. He played in 14 regular-season games (including five starts) in 2024 and finished with 28 tackles (18 solo), five pass defenses, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Jackson could compete with Kelee Ringo for the second starting outside corner job opposite Quinyon Mitchell if the Eagles opt to use Cooper DeJean in the slot corner role.

Jackson again was unable to stay healthy last season, as he suffered a sprained MCL while returning a punt Week 11 that caused him to miss the rest of the regular season. The cornerback made it back for the postseason and played a near every-down role upon his return, totaling 14 tackles over two games. Jackson has suited up for just 23 of 34 contests since the Giants signed him to a three-year, $39 million contract in March 2021. He's the Giants' best coverage defender but will need to stay on the field to maximize his impact.
Jackson had an up-and-down first campaign in New York, but he'll be counted on as the team's No. 1 cornerback in 2022 following the departure of James Bradberry. The USC product finished with 62 tackles, eight passes defended and one interception over 13 games last season. Under new defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale, Jackson likely will be asked to play plenty of man-to-man coverage, which is an area of strength for him. He could flourish in the new system, but he'll need to stay healthy after missing over 20 games across the past three seasons.
Signed to a three-year deal in March, Jackson should start opposite James Bradberry at right cornerback. Jackson put up big tackle numbers for a corner in 2017 and 2018 with the Titans, but he missed 18 games over the last two seasons before becoming a free agent. Still only 25, the 18th overall pick of the 2017 Draft should see a lot of work with teams avoiding James Bradberry, but he'll have to hold off this year's 71st overall pick, Aaron Robinson.
Jackson suffered a foot injury towards the end of the season, subduing what appeared to be a breakout campaign. The Titans saw enough from him to exercise the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, and he's regularly matched up on A.J. Brown in training camp. That's an indication the team will lean on him to frequently cover opposing team's top wideouts, a role he showed flashes of being prepared for in 2019.
Jackson became a centerpiece of the Titans' secondary in 2018, logging over 75 percent snap shares in every game from Week 6 forward. However, he struggled in several key metrics taking a step back in areas such as yards allowed per catch and quarterback passer rating against. He also had notable trouble covering speedsters such as Tyrell Williams and T.Y. Hilton, despite owning 4.45 speed of his own. The Titans will be counting on Jackson to return to his rookie form of 2017, when he broke up 18 passes -- the fourth highest mark of any corner in the league. Jackson also served as the team's part-time punt returner, returning 16 punts in 2018, while averaging 9.3 yards per return.
Despite proving to be somewhat of a liability in coverage, Jackson posted a top-30 finish among defensive backs in standard IDP scoring as a rookie in 2017. Also seeing reps as a return man on special teams -- as well as a gadget player on offense -- Jackson has a wide range of responsibilities in Tennessee and makes for an intriguing prospect in fantasy circles.
There are questions about Jackson's ability to serve as a full-time cover corner right off the bat, but the 5-10, 186-pound former track star should excel at guarding speedy deep threats and ranks 12th in this cornerback class against the run according to Pro Football Focus. The 18th pick in the 2017 draft knows how to use his 4.42 40 speed for more than just defense, having scored four kickoff return touchdowns, four punt return touchdowns and even six receiving touchdowns at USC. Look for Jackson and Eric Weems to split return duties.

Beginning extension talks
CBNew York Giants
August 15, 2023
Jackson and the Giants have had talks about an extension, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is entering the final season of a three-year, $39 million contract. In his first two years with the Giants, he's combined to record 15 passes defended and one interception across 23 games. Jackson has shown some additional versatility early on in training camp, shifting into the slot to allow the team to work out some less experienced cornerbacks on the outside. He's likely to have a significant role in the team's secondary in 2023.
