                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Burns performed well in his first campaign with New York, starting all 17 games and logging a career-high 71 tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and a career-best eight pass defenses. The Giants enter 2025 with one of the league's most promising edge-rush units, featuring Kayvon Thibodeaux, Chauncey Golston and rookie Abdul Carter along with Burns. How those pieces will divvy up snaps remains to be seen, but Burns should remain a central figure in the group and could benefit in terms of sack production from the presence of stud nose tackle Dexter Lawrence, who is returning from an elbow injury. Logs sack in loss
Burns tallied four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, during the Giants' loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
				ANALYSIS
Burns was dealing with a hip injury throughout the week but ended up having a strong outing nonetheless, as he managed to record his 10th sack of the season. The 27-year-old is already just 2.5 sacks short of his career-high total set back in 2022, and he will look to add to his totals during the Week 9 matchup versus the 49ers.

Burns took a small step back with 8.0 sacks - his fewest since his rookie year - last season, but that didn't deter the Giants from handing him a big five-year contract after acquiring him via trade from the Panthers in March. The talented edge rusher admitted following Week 18 that he played last season with some fear of getting hurt without a contract extension, so his new security could result in a big first year with New York. It should help as well that Burns will be teaming up with rising star Kayvon Thibodeaux and All-Pro DT Dexter Lawrence, forming a trio that will be daunting for opposing lines to block.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
    Poised for big season
Burns could reach double-digit sacks this season with 2025 third overall pick Abdul Carter lined up opposite him on the Giants defense, Marc Ross of NFL.com projects.
				ANALYSIS
Burns accumulated 8.5 sacks over 17 regular-season games last season in his first campaign with the Giants, but the 27-year-old edge rusher figures to see a lot more opportunities to get to the quarterback in 2025 as blocking schemes are forced to contend with another threat in Carter. Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence, who missed the end of the 2024 season due to an elbow injury, could also benefit from the disruptive presence of the former Penn State star.
