Left tackle heads to Pittsburgh

The Steelers selected Jones in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 14th overall.
ANALYSIS
The Steelers traded a fourth-round pick to jump from the 17th pick to the 14th, cutting off the Jets in the process. The Jets could have used Jones, as the Georgia product is a prototypical modern left tackle. While he's not huge at 6-foot-5, 311 pounds, Jones has good reach (34 and 3/4-inch arms) and exceptional athleticism (4.97-second 40-yard dash). Jones has room on his frame to add a bit more weight if necessary, and he clearly has athleticism to spare. Jones should send incumbent left tackle Dan Moore to the bench early on.

Jones has been working behind incumbent Dan Moore at left tackle during the offseason program, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Selected by the Steelers out of Georgia with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Jones is nearly the prototype of a modern left tackle when it comes to his athleticism and measurables, but he was a starter in college for less than two full seasons. Moore, meanwhile, has started 33 games for Pittsburgh since being drafted in the fourth round in 2021. Jones will push the incumbent aside at some point, perhaps as soon as training camp, but it seems as though the rookie will be forced to earn a starting job and not have it handed to him, despite his lofty draft pedigree.
