ANALYSIS
Thompkins joined the Raiders in late July and appeared in all three preseason games. He logged four catches (on six targets) for 33 yards and contributed on special teams as a returner, recording 25 yards on four punt returns and 198 yards on seven kickoff returns. He was released by the Raiders on Sunday, but Thompkins will stick around on the practice squad and could be elevated to the active roster if the team needs another pass catcher or returner.

The resilient Thompkins eventually earned his way onto the active roster last season after initially earning a practice squad spot following final cuts. The undrafted Utah State product recorded his first five regular-season receptions across five games and logged 324 return yards as well. Thompkins totaled 122 snaps overall in 2022, but he's now fighting for the No. 3 WR job with Trey Palmer and David Moore after Russell Gage suffered a season-ending injury in training camp.
