October 12, 2022
Coleman (calf) was listed as a full participant on the Seahawks' injury report Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Coleman has not played since Seattle's season opener due to a lingering calf injury, and he was ruled inactive ahead of Sunday's loss to New Orleans despite returning to practice in a limited fashion last Wednesday. However, the veteran's health seems to have taken some significant strides after he practiced without any limitations in Week 6. Coleman recorded five tackles over 49 defensive snaps in Week 1, and he should line up as the Seahawks' nickel corner behind Mike Jackson and Tariq Woolen when available again.

Coming off two solid seasons in Denver, Coleman could be in the mix for Miami's top slot cornerback gig.
The rise and fall of Coleman was one of the most confounding 2019 storylines for Lions fans. Fresh off signing a $36 million contract that briefly made him the league's highest-paid slot cornerback, the 27-year-old looked like one of the best free-agent additions of the year over the first month of the season, tying for the league lead in pass breakups and playing a key role in Detroit's near-win over Kansas City. Then he came crashing back to Earth. By Week 17, Coleman was regularly getting picked on by opposing quarterbacks and ultimately ranked near the top of the league in yards allowed per coverage snap. The Lions committed too much money to him last offseason to not give Coleman a chance to redeem himself in 2020, but he won't be sure to return to his early-2019 form. However, with a strong tandem of Jeff Okudah and Desmond Trufant on the outside, Coleman could at least see plenty of opportunities to top the career-high 47 solo tackles he totaled last year.
The crafty goal-line interception Coleman had against Detroit in Week 8 of last year may have left a mark on the Lions' front office. Signed to a four-year, $36 million deal to come over from Seattle in free agency, Coleman was made the highest-earning nickel back in the league, and should thus command heavy playing time from the get-go. While he has never come close to reaching 1000 snaps in his short career, the 26-year-old isn't being paid to sit on the bench, and it's likely the Lions are planning on him playing a bigger role than he had with the Seahawks.
Coleman was a well-rounded asset for the Seahawks in 2017, mustering 43 tackles, 1.5 sacks, nine pass breakups and two pick-sixes. This offseason, however, Seattle signed Dontae Johnson and drafted Tre Flowers, meaning Coleman will have to fight for snap counts and likely move away from fantasy relevance.
