Malik Washington

23-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Washington was expected by many to be selected in the fourth round of the 2024 draft. The receiver fell into the sixth round, and Miami selected the receiver with the No. 184 pick. At 5-foot-9, 191 pounds and not showing great route versatility, Washington projects to be a slot receiver. Currently, the Dolphins have Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft who have functioned at times in the No. 3 receiver role. Should Washington have a strong training camp, it’s possible he can challenge Berrios and Cracraft for a regular role in the offense. However, with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle dominating targets, the No. 3 role in Miami is unlikely to provide significant target volume. Read Past Outlooks
Miami scoops wideout in Round 6
WRMiami Dolphins
April 27, 2024
The Dolphins selected Washington in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 184th overall.
ANALYSIS
Washington was expected to go a good two rounds earlier than this, so the former Virginia and Northwestern standout could prove to be a nice pick for the Dolphins this late. Washington doesn't look like your typical coach Mike McDaniel wideout at 5-foot-9, 191 pounds, and he lacks the lateral dynamism of wideouts like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but it seems like Washington should be able to assist the Dolphins offense if only in a small role. More specifically, at his height Washington is likely somewhat slot dependent, and unlike most slot wideouts he's more explosive vertically than laterally. With a 4.47-second 40-yard dash and standout hands, there should be enough here for McDaniel to figure something out, just perhaps never in a starting role for Washington.

Could be fit with Arizona

The Cardinals may have interest in Washington in the 2024 NFL Draft, Matt Miller of ESPN suggests.
ANALYSIS
Washington had prolific production at both Northwestern and Virginia during his collegiate career, and he delivered 110 receptions for 1,426 yards and nine touchdowns with the Cavaliers in 2023. At 23, he's an older prospect, which has kept his projected draft capital in check. Arizona is in need of an injection of talent at wide receiver, so the team could end up selecting multiple players at the position in the upcoming draft.
