2026 Fantasy Outlook
It was a long road back from injury for Berger, we last saw him at the peak of his powers in 2022, but an injury sidelined him for all of 2023 and greatly affected his results in 2024. This past year, however, he started to resemble the golfer he was prior to 2022. He did tail off a bit at the end of the season, but that was to be expected after playing so much golf in a short span after a long layoff. Berger is in his early-30s, so he had plenty of peak years in front of him. As long as he stays healthy, he should continue to improve and at some point, get back to the player that won four events in six years. Berger is a top 30 player if everything goes right and as such, he deserves a look in salary cap leagues this season. Read Past Outlooks
MC by four strokes at The Masters
Berger posted a 76-76 scorecard at The Masters to miss the cut by four strokes.
ANALYSIS
Berger failed to get anything going in his seventh appearance at Augusta National, ending the tournament with one double bogey, eight bogeys and two birdies. It's been an inconsistent season for Berger, who has finished outside the top-30 in six of nine tournaments this year (including two missed cuts), but he also finished T6 at the Sony Open in January and lost to Akshay Bhatia on the first playoff hole of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Next week's RBC Heritage is the perfect stage for a bounce-back performance from Berger; he has made the cut in each of his six prior outings at the Signature Event and finished T3 in both 2020 and 2025.

Berger is trying to make his way back and prove that he can still be one of the better players in the world even after all the back injuries he has dealt with over the last few years. Prior to the start of 2024, Berger had not played on the PGA Tour since missing the cut at the 2022 U.S. Open. As expected he was pretty rusty, but did show flashes at times with five top-25s, including a runner-up at the RSM Classic. The ball-striking gives reason for optimism as Berger ranked top-15 in total driving and GIR percentage. The short game and putting needs to take a big jump forward, however, if he is ever to fully regain his old form.
