2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gooch entered 2024 as arguably one of the hottest golfers in the LIV Golf League. He won the season-long Individual Championship in 2023 thanks to victories at LIV Golf Adelaide, Singapore and Andalucia. Unfortunately for Gooch, 2024 was a bit of a different story. While he finished 10th in the LIV Golf individual season standings, he failed to add to his trophy collection, with his T2 in Las Vegas marking his best outing of the year. Gooch was given a special exemption to play in the PGA Championship, and while he was able to make the cut, he finished T60 at Valhalla. Unless he elects to play on the Asian Tour, Gooch is unlikely to receive an invitation to any of the four majors in 2025 and will have to earn his way through qualification. Read Past Outlooks
Tied for eighth at LIV Golf Chicago
Gooch finished LIV Golf Chicago tied with Thomas Pieters for eighth after carding a one-under 70 in the final round.
ANALYSIS
Gooch went four-under through the first two rounds and was five strokes back of the clubhouse lead heading into Championship Sunday. He started the final round poorly by going two-over through the first seven holes, but he bounced back with four birdies over the final 10 holes to surge into the top-10. Gooch struggled in the first half of the season, but he has finished in the top-10 in five of the last six LIV Golf tournaments, including his victory in Andalucia in mid-July. He sits fifth in the individual standings with 112.70 points heading into Indianapolis next weekend, the final tournament of the 2025 regular season.
