2025 Fantasy Outlook
Going from Vegas to Seattle in free agency, it was fair to assume Stephenson would experience a drop in offense. However, the 31-year-old matched his point total (51) from his last year with the Golden Knights while seeing consistent top-six minutes in his first campaign for the Kraken. The center remains one of the more playmaking-oriented players in the league, with 13 goals and 38 assists over 78 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He sees time in all situations, and while he had a career-high 18 points with the man advantage, the power-play units in Seattle have largely been interchangeable in recent years. His contract may not age well, but Stephenson is locked into a big role, and he adds enough offense to be considered as a depth option in most fantasy formats. Read Past Outlooks

Secures 50-point campaign
Stephenson scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
Stephenson capitalized on a turnover to stretch the Kraken's lead to 3-1 at 7:39 of the second period. The 30-year-old forward has two goals in his last two outings -- he's scored in consecutive contests three times this season. He's up to the 50-point mark (13 goals, 37 helpers) for the fourth year in a row, and he's added 70 shots on net, 46 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating while logging top-six minutes over 73 outings in his first year with Seattle.

Following three straight seasons in which Stephenson was able to top both the 15-goal and 50-point thresholds, the 30-year-old center was finally able to cash in with a seven-year deal with Seattle that will earn him $6.25 million AAV. Given his age, this could be the final contract of the speedy playmaker's career, as it will take him through the 2030-31 campaign. How the Canadian center fits into the lineup will be a question mark heading into training camp, as the Kraken have a wealth of center depth, including youngsters Matty Beniers and Shane Wright. Still, Stephenson should be in contention for a top-six role while also projecting to link up with one of the power-play units. Those responsibilities should see him reach similar productivity during the 2024-25 campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Might be pursued by Predators
Stephenson might be targeted by the Predators should he become an unrestricted free agent Monday, according to Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Stephenson had 16 goals and 51 points in 75 regular-season contests with Vegas in 2023-24. He's coming off a four-year, $11 million contract and is presumably seeking a significant raise. Predators GM Barry Trotz has a connection with Stephenson from Trotz's tenure as the head coach of the Capitals when the center was also there, so that might give Nashville an edge in negotiations.
