There may be a little motivation for Daccord, as he could push for an Olympic roster spot with Team USA, but his NHL outlook isn't all that cheery. The Kraken play hard but their lack of a true superstar anywhere on the roster leaves them prone to be overwhelmed by more talented teams. Daccord struggled late in the season, but that didn't take any of the shine off a monster season for the long-time minor leaguer. Pressed into a heavy workload when Philipp Grubauer went down, Daccord responded with a 19-18-11 record, 2.46 GAA and .916 save percentage in 50 appearances (46 starts). He delivered Vezina-quality netminding between early December and early February. He's not that kind of goalie over a full season, but he will battle Philipp Grubauer for the starter's role in camp and perhaps push him into a 1A/1B platoon.
