2018 Fantasy Outlook
Motte spent most of the season with Columbus before joining Vancouver, but in a bigger role he failed to impress, scoring just two goals in 15 games. He was loaned to AHL Utica for their playoff run but likewise failed to make a significant impact, scoring two goals in five games. Motte enters the final year of his entry-level deal with an uncertain future, currently on the outside looking in with a lot of competition to fend off at training camp. If he doesn't show much improvement, the Canucks won't see much value in playing him. Motte is best suited for a bottom-six role and because he's waivers-exempt will likely ride the minor-league shuttle for most of the 2018-19 season. Read Past Outlooks

Snares qualifying offer

Upper Body
June 26, 2019
The Canucks have extended Motte (upper body) a qualifying offer.
ANALYSIS
Motte's season ended prematurely due to an upper-body injury that surfaced in late March, but he finished the campaign with a career-best 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) over 74 games. The effort was enough for Vancouver to hand him a qualifying offer to retain his negotiating rights.
