2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lorentz accounted for eight goals, 19 points, 76 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and a career-high 199 hits across 80 regular-season games with Toronto in 2024-25. He re-upped with his hometown team on a three-year contract over the offseason. Lorentz hasn’t reached the 20-point plateau yet at the NHL level, and he will be hard-pressed to achieve that mark in 2025-26 while skating on the fourth line. However, the 29-year-old forward should continue to be a solid source of hits. Read Past Outlooks

Healthy scratch Thursday
Lorentz (upper body) will be a healthy scratch versus the Rangers on Thursday, per Mark Masters of TSN.
ANALYSIS
Lorentz missed the last two games with the injury, but head coach Craig Berube said after practice Thursday that Lorentz is available to play but he will be a healthy scratch. Lorentz could return as early as Saturday when Toronto is home to Seattle.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Lorentz was at least a regular on a bad Sharks team in 2022-23, racking up 19 points and 133 hits, with a minus-18 rating, over 80 contests. He was the player heading back to Florida for Anthony Duclair in what could end up being more than just a salary dump for the Panthers. Lorentz has proven himself as an effective bottom-six center, though a breakout at 27 years old would be surprising. Going from one of the worst offenses in the league to one of the best could help him cross the 20-point threshold this year, and he's got the grit to stick in the Panthers' high-energy system, but his skill set does not make him attractive in fantasy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Practicing with scratches
Lorentz, who is battling an upper-body injury, was skating with the potential scratches to start Tuesday's game-day skate, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
ANALYSIS
Lorentz could still be an option for Tuesday's matchup with Nashville, but the fact that he is working with the non-playing group certainly doesn't bode well for his availability. If the veteran is on the shelf, Easton Cowan will likely remain in the lineup and could continue to serve in a first-line role.
