2025 Fantasy Outlook
Carlo is a player who has more value to his team than he does on fantasy rosters. The 28-year-old has never finished a regular season with 20 or more points, and he didn’t come close in 2024-25, recording a goal and 12 points in 83 appearances between Boston and Toronto before the playoffs began. However, he is a good bet to record 30-45 PIM and over 100 blocks. Carlo is also capable of reaching 100 hits, even if he finished the 2024-25 regular season with just 90. Fantasy managers can get some utility out of Carlo in certain formats, as long as they’re willing to accept his limited offensive output. Read Past Outlooks
Done for season
Carlo (lower body) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, David Alter of The Hockey News reports Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Carlo had a disappointing season with the Maple Leafs, tallying seven assists, 65 hits, 98 blocked shots and 37 PIM in 55 games. The Maple Leafs could move him in the offseason, but if not, he will be at training camp come September.

Now eight seasons into his NHL career, Carlo has developed into a low-event, low-upside stay-at-home defender. He had four goals and 14 points in 76 regular-season games last season, offensive numbers right in line with the prior two years. Carlo's most important fantasy contributions come in the plus-minus, hits and blocked shots categories. Carlo has been a stellar plus-67 over the past two seasons and finished the most recent campaign with 140 hits and 140 blocks. Carlo isn't a sexy selection, but he can help in those categories depending on the size of your league.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might return Tuesday
Carlo, who has been out of action while recovering from foot surgery, could be ready to play versus the Panthers on Tuesday, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
Carlo was working with Morgan Rielly on the top pairing at Monday's practice, which is a solid indicator that he is nearing a return to action. If Carlo can't go versus the Cats, his spot in the lineup could go to Marshall Rifai, who was recalled from the minors Monday. Prior to his absence, Carlo was mired in a nine-game point drought and had yet to find the back of the net in 18 outings.
