Appleby has stopped 52 of 55 shots faced in three appearances (one start) at the NHL level, giving him a 1.45 GAA and .945 save percentage. Unfortunately for the 23-year-old netminder, his 2.76 GAA and .901 save percentage with AHL Binghamton this past season suggest those impressive NHL numbers are just the fluky product of a small sample size. The Devils opted not to keep him in their organization this offseason, so Appleby has latched on with Winnipeg's AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. Don't expect to see him in the NHL this year barring injuries to the Jets' current goaltenders.
