2026 Fantasy Outlook
For the second year in a row, Korchinski failed to stick in the NHL. He had just two assists in 13 games for the Blackhawks, as well as two goals and 24 assists over 53 regular-season outings for AHL Rockford. His offense has been steady at the AHL level, but he also had a minus-21 rating for the IceHogs, which is a worrying sign. Korchinski is also in firm competition with numerous other prospect blueliners. While the 22-year-old isn't a clear fantasy option yet, he still has time to improve in all zones. A successful 2026-27 would see Korchinski make some progress even if he doesn't become a full-time option for the Blackhawks. Read Past Outlooks

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Korchinski had a goal, two points, eight PIM, two hits and 14 blocks in 16 appearances with Chicago in 2024-25. The 21-year-old defenseman also got plenty of work in the AHL, recording three goals, 27 points and 40 PIM in 56 regular-season outings with Rockford. Entering the final year of his entry-level contract, Korchinski has a bit of added motivation going into training camp. Although his spot isn’t guaranteed, there is a real chance Korchinski makes the Blackhawks’ Opening Night roster and sticks with them as part of the third pairing. However, he’s not much of a physical presence, so while he might be able to supply 10-20 points if he plays regularly, he won’t be a big help in most secondary categories.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should remain in NHL all year
Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times believes Korchinski will remain with the Blackhawks for the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign.
ANALYSIS
Korchinski has seens his ups and downs this campaign, but he's usually been one of Chicago's better defenders, and the team clearly believes his development will best be served by a full NHL season rather than a return to the WHL. The 2022 first-round pick has collected two goals and six points while averaging 19:32 of ice time through 19 contests this year.
