2026 Fantasy Outlook
While the Canucks had a year to forget in 2025-26, Karlsson was a bright spot. He produced 15 goals, 20 assists, 83 hits, 116 shots on net and 42 PIM over 79 appearances in his first full NHL campaign. Karlsson is a bit of a late bloomer, having just established himself as a 26-year-old. At a minimum, he looks like a reliable bottom-six forward, but he saw some time in a more significant role on a team that struggled for offense. Karlsson earned four of his points on the power play and could be in line for a larger role in that situation. Barring a collapse in efficiency, he should be able to produce 10-15 goals, 25-30 points and roughly one hit per game. That said, his team situation doesn't offer much potential for improving from last year. Read Past Outlooks
Strikes for first goal of season

ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old opened the scoring early in the first period with a one-timer from the faceoff circle, but New Jersey dominated play the rest of the afternoon. Karlsson is coming off a solid first full season in the NHL in 2025-26, producing 15 goals and 35 points in 79 regular-season contests, and he's had a quick start to the current campaign with a goal and five points in six games.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Karlsson got his feet wet in the NHL last season, posting just three goals and three assists in 27 games with the Canucks. However, down in the AHL playoffs, he turned heads as he led Abbotsford in scoring (26 points in 24 games) during their run to the Calder Cup Finals. His NHL advanced stats (7.16 HDCF per 60, 1.43 ixG per 60) suggest there may be more under the hood than the surface numbers showed. If he can earn the trust of new head coach Adam Foote, Karlsson could carve out a regular role in Vancouver this season.

ANALYSIS
Karlsson saw action in 79 regular-season games this year, producing 15 goals, 20 assists and 116 shots to go with 83 hits and four power-play points. With another year under his belt, the 26-year-old center should be capable of pushing for both the 20-goal and 40-point thresholds next year, which would make him a solid mid-range fantasy target.
